The Beech Hill School Strategic Plan

clear priorities, Important outcomes

In 2011, Emily Ricard founded The Beech Hill School to focus on the unique needs of middle school students.  Over a decade later, The Beech Hill School has become a leading educational institution in the Greater Concord area and has become known as a school where students thrive.

Initially, School founder, Emily Ricard, the founding Head of School, Rick Johnson, and the prescient leadership of the original Board of Directors provided the leadership, enthusiasm, direction, and support critical to shepherd The School through the first decade.  As The School moves into its second decade, The Beech Hill School’s Board of Directors has approved the current Strategic Plan which prioritizes long term stability, enhanced visibility and curricular strength.

The first step in achieving these priorities was to refine the vision and mission of The Beech Hill School.  In the Spring of 2024, The Beech Hill School’s Board of Directors approved the following vision and mission statements:

VISION

To foster lifelong learners who engage in community with confidence, fortitude and grace.

MISSION

To challenge and support students’ intellectual, emotional, and moral growth by cultivating community and creating opportunities for discovery, adversity and autonomy, rooted in our New England setting.

These missives, in conjunction with our Foundations of Community, and the priorities set by the Strategic Plan provide the requisite guidance for current and future leaders to propel The Beech Hill School forward in its second decade and beyond.
